Termon 2--15 Killybegs 2--08 Termon survived a relegation battle against Killybegs at the Burn Road on Sunday. Manager Hugh Harkin fielded a strong team , but was minus the services of County panellist Enda Mc Cormack Storm Brian had deposited vast amounts of water on the field on Saturday but the grounds men worked tirelessly to ensure the fixture went ahead with the playing surface slippy but dry.Termon were in a mean mood from the off but were on the back foot from the second minute when Mark Finnerty pointed for the visitors. The Wiley Mc Grenra had a lot to do before he found evergreen Paddy Mc Daid lurking at the far post and he palmed into an empty Killybegs net. Hugh Harkin who had to field without Michael Boyle, Enda Mc Cormack plus the absence of John Mc Cafferty were to prove costly for the Gaeltachta teams quest for a return for top flight football in 2018. But while Harkin was short so also was Malin manager Terence Colhoun who fielded without first team regulars, Ciaran Byrne,Declan Walsh, Michael Byrne, Dan Mc Daid and the influential Anthony Kelly. Termon who won the toss played with a strong wind that blew from Doonwell towards Lough Salt but it was Malin who got off to the perfect start at the Burn Road on Sunday when Paul Mc Laughlin, Matthew Byrne and Brendan Mc Laughlin pointed in the opening five minutes, before Dare Mc Daid opened Termon,s account with a free. Two Goals by Sean Doherty one following a great interception by Cristy Mc Laughlin when he disposed Jimmy Gallagher and fed Doherty to goal with ease. Doherty pointed for Malin before Daire Mc Daid had two minors for Termon. Termon defeated Buncrana in an entertaining contest at a very wet Burn Road on Sunday. Manager Hugh Harkin fielded a mix of very young players and the older brigade of John Mc Cafferty, Jimmy Gallagher, Kevin Mc Ilwaine and Anthony Mc Grenra But it was Buncrana who got off to the perfect start when on the second minute Dare o Connors speculative lob landed in the Termon net. Points from Enda Mc Cormack and two from Dare mc Daid levelled matters before John Campbell with two extended Buncrana lead. John Mc Cafferty and Dare o Connor exchanged points before Anthony Mc Grenra fed Dare Mc Daid for a Termon goal. Oran Doherty cut the deficit for Buncrana before Dare Mc Daid raised several white flags for Termon to leave a halftime score of Termon 1--8 Buncrana1--4.
